Hiring for a Program Associate Position at the Wallace Center

The Wallace Center’s Resilient Agriculture & Ecosystems (RAE) initiative is looking for a dynamic individual interested in supporting diverse, regenerative and profitable farms the U.S. Upper Midwest. We are hiring a Program Associate 1, an entry-level position within the close-knit RAE team that is working on projects in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin. The position provides administrative, communications, and programmatic support for several projects that are primarily focused on reintegrating managed livestock grazing into the region with the goal of building healthy soil, watersheds, farms, and rural communities. This is a great opportunity for an individual interested in learning and working to affect positive change in conventional agriculture and land management, as well as equitable value chains and end markets for regenerative agriculture products and services. Day-to-day activities include co-planning with teammates, supporting team meetings, administering contractual obligations (i.e. funding reports, contract invoicing, procurement requests, etc.), maintaining the initiative’s communications/collaboration platforms, tracking impact data, conducting preliminary research, and working on RAE’s equity and inclusion goals. We are looking for someone who is familiar with the opportunities and challenges facing agriculture and farmers in the Upper Midwest – ideally through experience working on these issues with communities in the region. A knowledge of regenerative agriculture and managed livestock grazing practices is a bonus, but not a requirement. The position is full-time and salaried ($50,000-$55,000). We prefer someone who can work out of our Arlington, Virginia office but are open to remote candidates. The Wallace Center is part of Winrock International and this job posting can be found here: https://www.winrock.org/join-us/careers/job-openings/?jid=2477218
