Congratulations to the Spring 2019 Community Food Systems Mentees!

The Spring 2019 Community Food Systems Mentorship cohort is underway, with 28 food systems leaders from across the country working with one of nine mentors and food systems experts! This is a beautifully diverse cohort with over half of the group identifying as African American, Afrikan, Moor, Native American, Latinx, Xicana, Asian or Pacific Islander. Mentees come from 19 different states, and 3 mentees each are based in Mississippi and North Carolina. Their communities are urban centers like Brooklyn, NY and San Diego, CA, and more rural areas like Kykotsmovi, AZ and McCool, MS.

These individuals are already contributing to the national good food movement through their work and will unleash more of their power to effect change with the support of a mentor. This is an incredible opportunity to grow personally as well as professionally, while having support and guidance from a fellow food systems leader. Mentors bring with them unique skillsets, experiences, and insight, and will help mentees discover the solutions that lie within themselves and their communities.
