Call to Action: Solidarity for Midwest Farmers

Dear FSLN members,

As you likely know, the recent floods in the midwest have been absolutely devastating for farmers and ranchers in the region. We've seen reports that up to 50% of farmers in some areas will not recover from this hit, and there are estimates of over $1 billion in losses/damage in Nebraska's farms alone.

Our friends over at the Center for Rural Affairs compiled a great list of resources for flooded farmers, which is helpful now AND is a good resource to keep on hand, as we prepare for an increase in severe weather events caused by climate change in all of our communities: https://www.cfra.org/news/190320/crucial-resources-every-flooded-farmer

Farm Aid activtated a Family Farm Disaster Fund to support farmers and ranchers recovering from this month's floods. Through this fund, Farm Aid provides $500 in individual emergency grants to farmers for immediate releif and recovery. We encourage you to donate and help spread the word among your networks: https://give.farmaid.org/give/54454/#!/donation/checkout

Tribal nations have also been heavily impacted, and the disaster has displaced many families, leaving them without water, power, and other critical resources. Please see the list below and reach out directly if you'd like to send monetary donations, supplies, or any other assistance. Thanks for your help in spreading the word and showing our solidarity with our friends in the midwest.
