Lifelong Learner. Green Thumb. Landlocked Surfer. Systems Leader!

My Story

I first dug my hands in the earth as a young child in my church's garden in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where we grew food for the women's shelter downtown. This experience planted a seed of passion in my heart for creating equitable, inclusive, community-based food systems to nourish and heal ourselves, our communities, and our world. I've dedicated my life and my career to this vision and am honored to now lead the Community-based Food Systems team at the Wallace Center!

My cover photo is of the Noyo Food Forest's Learning Garden at Fort Bragg High School, an on-site farm to school program and center for education in sustainable agriculture and nutrition in rural Fort Bragg, California. I am a co-founder of the organization and learned so very much in this garden. It is a reminder to me that there are seasons to the work and to always keep growing forward.
