Growth and renewal for social impact. The business of philanthropy.

My Story

Amy Kincaid works with social entrepreneurs, funders, and universities on program design, fundraising, and evaluation. She is the founding principal of the strategy consultancy for impact organizations, ChangeMatters, and has been raising capital and advising the development of social enterprises since 1998. She has secured over $70 million for nonprofits, guided dozens of strategic plans and program evaluations, and presented hundreds of training and learning events. Recent efforts have produced a food hub operated by limited-resource farmers in the Mississippi Delta; the spin off of a $5 million social innovation fund from a New York-based private foundation; collaboration in a $35 million, multi-state land protection and restoration initiative covering eight regions of the Delaware River Watershed; and launch of a set of digital badges recognizing workplace competencies earned within the service year experience. At University of Maryland, she manages experiential learning in the Center for Social Value Creation and teaches social enterprise consulting both in the business school and for Hillman Entrepreneurs. She writes on organizational change, financial turnaround, and impact evaluation in the nonprofit and philanthropic sector.
